Kids Store Downtown?

I was at a meeting last month, and someone was saying that they had heard it said that they wish there was more items for kids birthday presents, gifts, accessories at the downtown shops…..well, I think  ARTifacts alone has a ton, then you expand your view to Hodgepodge & Ingredients and there are even more! And as what fun things you can take them to do – don’t forget that the Roxy is about to open their production of "BIG RIVER" - you don't want to miss that!

2 Days Remaining!

Well good morning all!  I hope you all ready for the holidays!  If you still have some shopping needs, please consider shopping downtown! 

I know I will be running to Ingredients today for some last minute chutney for an appetizer and maybe some herbs for my rub for the pork shoulder we will be smoking in the cooker this weekend.  Then to Rogate’s Boutique for some jewelry for my Christmas outfit.  Over to Blondie’s for a peppermint mocha café a lait (um YUM!!).  Hodgepodge for some Christmas ornaments to adorn the top of my Christmas gifts.  Betty’s Antiques for some extra chair shopping for the Christmas table. Finally, I will head up to ARTifacts – get some Christmas cards for the last few family’s that I didn’t have enough for, maybe a knitted hat with a flower for my 9 year old to give as a gift to my 5 year old, from Tutu Good.  Finishing off the morning at Lovin Spoonful for a lunch with my parents who are visiting from out of town (hoping for chivan divan!!)

The possibilities are endless – but the time is not!  Here are the hours we have remaining for your shopping convenience!

Winter Hours at ARTifacts & Hodgepodge

Your two favorite downtown stores (of course I speak of ARTifacts & Hodgepodge) are extending their hours!  And to further tempt you to come downtown, Ingredients & Rogate’s Boutique are also staying open longer for all our customers convenience!  So now you can come downtown after work, do some shopping, dining and then a show at the Roxy!  Can’t beat that!

Monday 10am to 3pm
Tuesday – Saturday 10am to 6pm, 7pm on Thursday

 

New Vendors!!

We have a couple of new people who have joined us at ARTifacts Emporium.  And we have had a few people moving around to different spaces too. Let’s check out a new vendor today – and another one tomorrow!

Introducing ``“Vintage, etc.”

For those of you who shop Hodgepodge, you already know the decorating style of Patty Stinnett.  Patty has helped Paige by effortlessly continuing Paige’s decorating style while still adding flair and expertise of her own. Patty joined us and it has been all fun and buying since she did!  Here is just a few of the items she has to share – of course, I took these photos and within 2 hours she had already updated with more stuff – so this isn’t up to date anymore – but you will get the idea!

 

In Vintage, Etc you will find all kinds of goodies – but I have already helped myself to her linens, which are wonderful!  They are in excellent condition, and priced to move!

I love love love this end table/greenhouse/accent piece!  Made from vintage windows, this piece is so unusual – I just love it!!

Vintage, Etc has also quite a collection of vintage birds.  This is my favorite pair – while loving the vintage table they are perched on as well.  So much wonderful stuff! Now, please help me out here.  I love these dishes.  They are Melmac dishes.  I want them.  I have taken them up front several times already – but really, my husband has already threatened to schedule an intervention for my addiction to plates (stop laughing at me Tabitha!!) so I figure for my marriage’s sake I have to refrain a bit longer.  Please come save me!

So – this new vendor – Vintage, Etc – has already brought several new things into my house.  I bet she can help you too!

Tea Time for Mom's

A couple weeks ago we were asked by a good friend if we could support a fund raiser she was working on for HOPE Pregnancy Center here in Clarksville.

I am happy to say we were able to support by sponsoring a table by decorating it with items from ARTifacts. We got there early Sunday afternoon and set the table with china, silverware, glasses, tea cups and saucers and of course a centerpiece - all items from ARTifacts.

How Do They Do That?



Is that a question you ask yourself? I ask myself that all the time (or I ask Paige....actually most of the time I ask Paige!). For over 2 years now, Paige has been offering these classes downstairs at Hodgepodge with this theme in mind. Now we have moved up to the next level!

Hodgepodge & ARTifacts are proud to announce

HOW DO THEY DO THAT? EXTRAVAGANZA!

A full day full of crafts, ephemera, glitter, and glass! Starting at 9am and continuing through the entire day and into the evening, we will be offering classes by some amazing local teachers who will guide us through all kinds of projects that we will return home with TRIUMPHANT and say "I KNOW HOW THEY DO THAT!"

We have 16 classes to choose from. They are in 4 - 2 hours sessions. So, you can go to the website and pick up to 1 class for each session. Learn how to make these ephemera filled nichos (dreamboxes), or make a vintage window cabinet; maybe you want to make an "America" banner for your Independence Day festivities? Or have birthdays coming up and you want to make necklaces for your favorite people. We have classes for everyone - all skill levels and all interests!

Announcing a day of crafts & creativity! Saturday, May 30th

Hodgepodge is looking for instructors for a day of crafts & creativity. We are planning an all day crafting event offering a total of 16 classes taught in four– 2 hour sessions. You may teach one or all four sessions. Crafts must be completed during the 2 hour time limit. Class size will be limited to 12 participants. Instructors set costs, to cover expenses and instruction. Participants must pre-register and pay for the class prior to event.

The instructor will be responsible for purchasing & providing the supplies for each class. Recommended maximum for a class is $25, but this is just a recommendation. A $10 registration fee will be charged by Hodgepodge to cover advertising, light refreshments and the use of the space.

Hodgepodge will be responsible to taking registrations and advertising this event.

If you are interested in participating as an instructor, pleased submit a description and sample photo of your project by Wednesday, April 15th. Please submit to me at kendall@artifactsemporium.com – the quick turn-around is necessary to allow for plenty of time for advertising.

New Arrivals at ARTifacts

A few new arrivals to feature on this blog. Annie McCord has several new pieces right now to highlight, a fabulous new side board, amazing florals and then this fun primitive piece. This piece offers plenty of storage and 2 shelves for great display spaces. I can picture this in a kitchen or bathroom easily. What a fun piece to add to your collection!
We also have a new collection of photos that have to be seen to believe. They are the Alphabetical architectural elements of Downtown Clarksville! The three Thomas sisters ventured out into downtown Clarksville (a 5 block radius from Hodgepodge & ARTifacts) and found every single letter of the alphabet in our architecture. Fun project - we had a great time! Now you can come and create your family name or what every you want to spell out. Hodgepodge is even giving a 10% discount on framing costs when you purchase the letters from ARTifacts. Let us help you decide what to spell out for your home. They also make a great gift for families that are leaving Clarksville.

The ladies of Busy Bee Antiques have been busy finding unique pieces for your home. This one can't be missed. A most unusual piece is this tall 5 draw with mirrored cabinet. This piece is nice and deep for extra storage - and still has the original wooden wheels for easy moving around the room.
