New Vendor! Rebecca Sower

Rebecca Sower, I have long admired!  Her blog is full of beautiful creations that excite and calm me at  the same time.  When she finally called and said she was ready to have a booth here at ARTifacts – I was truly GIDDY with excitement.

She moved in last week, and true to all I had envisioned from this amazing talent, her booth is full of wonderful surprises!DSCF1005Hand made journals made from new and vintage items.  Many embellished with unique images, photos, postcards, vintage lace, buttons, vintage ledger papers and more.

My photos of her apron creations didn’t turn out like I wanted, so I took this one from her blog – but it is here in our lil’ shop.

My favorite jewelry is taking old and making it new again.  Rebecca’s jewelry, just another of her creative collection – are made of just that.  Old keys, hotel key tags, vintage charms, pendants, buttons and more make up one of a kind jewelry.

Happy Trails - Featured Artisan for May

Upon entering ARTifacts I hear lots of initial comments. "WOW, I didn't even know you were here!", "This place is so big!", "OH GOODY" and "This is amazing!"

They slowly walk through stopping at each booth taking in all the great things to see. When they arrive at Lesa McDonald's booth - they stop - then walk in slowly - take it all in.

Then they start picking stuff up! They pick up the beautifully made purses and comment on the high quality of the sewing. They comment on the fun designs for the practical grocery bag holders - many appreciating that a needed item for our kitchens CAN be made attractive! The mothers and grandmothers of little girls love the fun hair bows. Typically I hear a giggle or a chuckle at the aprons with "hug a tree" embroidered on the front. New items added to Lesa's booth are leather key chains - already proving to be popular. Then I see a smile of appreciation for the tea towels with the bible quotes embroidered on the front.

All of Lesa's items are professional quality - I dare say, better quality then you will find at any department store! And it will reflect your personality and no one else in the world will have the same purse as you!

Lesa doesn't like good-byes, so she instead says Happy Trails - so, I will close with that sentiment with my thanks to her!

Happy Trails!

What's New!

Happy Valentine's Day! Hope everyone is having a fabulous day! I am having a great afternoon with all the young couples coming in and shopping before their Valentine's dinner & then show at the Roxy - Speaking of which - I have to put in here how WONDERFUL the Roxy's current production is! THey are doing ALTAR BOYZ. We went to see it last night for my neice's 17th birthday. Oh my goodness, but I haven't laughed so hard in a very long time! AND I missed at least half of the lines because of my laughing, so I know I missed out on even more laughs!
Don't wait, they may sell out once it gets around how fabulous this production is!
Ok - so what is new at ARTifacts? All kinds of things! I am going to feature a couple things each day for the next couple because I don't want to overwhelm everyone with all the fun new pieces.
So I was in the middle of writting about these 2 new cool chairs that Busy Bee brought in, and they sold! See, you gotta stay on your toes here. Enjoy those chairs Kathy!

Next are some additions to the Kid's Corner. They have found some great home made kids stuff - very near and dear to my heart are these great new slings, made locally of course! The color are great! You will still be a fashion plate, while being hands free with your kids. I used my sling from birth, and the final use was when she was 2 1/2 at the TN Renaissance Faire at 24 lbs for a full 2 1/2 hour nap. I am telling you, slings are the way to go. This vendor has both the pouch style & ring kind of slings, and they are beautiful.
Happy Trails has brought in a few new items, including a serger dress (so neat!) and a few new purses. The fabrics are fun and the craftman ship is outstanding. No one else in town will have your purse.
That is it for this edition of What's New at ARTifacts.
