Local Artisans–Petticoat Junktion & Purple Magnolia

Petticoat Junktion joined us at ARTifacts originally as O’ Baby! But as her ideas and products that she makes grew and changed, so did the name of her business to better protray what she has to offer her customers.

Painted furniture, repurposed items from her creative mind, are always available in the booth for Petticoat Junktion – here is a small sampling.

Now to share the fun pieces from Purple Magnolia.  While Purple Magnolia has several amazing re-upholstered pieces of furniture in her booth, she also have fun creating other fun pieces like pillows, purses from repurposed items, floral headbands, pins and these darling one of a kind dolls for your favorite little girls (and grown girls with a little girl love for dolls!)

For those of you who watch ARTifacts on Facebook, you already saw that Petticoat Junktion is having a sale in her booth.  But now you get to see some of those items!

I have always loved this putty colored distressed table, now on sale for $48.

Charming rocking chair for $38

This is a brand new dresser – not on sale, but already an incredible price (just arrived yesterday!!) for $249.  SHe painted this one a fabulous deep purple, almost a plum – then did some detailing on it in silver.  My photos don’t do it justice – but on her blog, you can see before and after shots. www.petticoatjunktion.com

Someone is looking at this set of 3, 2 side tables and 1 console – as I am typing this.  So, these may or may not be available when I am done typing this!  And at this price, if these 2 ladies don’t snatch them up, someone will soon!  The 2 side tables have glass on the top and are $88 for both.  The coffee table/console is $88 also!  GREAT PRICES!

Can you believe this one?  It is only $8!  Needs a bit of TLC, but totally worth it!  Who knows, maybe I will go home with it today……hmmm, I feel a project coming on!  Come save me from myself!

See you downtown!

“What’s Happening Hot Stuff?”

Anytime I hear the sentence “what’s happening hot stuff?” I am brought back to a time of my “youth” to the movie that soon became a cultural icon of the time – “16 Candles”

So, it is hot, and I am hearing that phrase A LOT this week.  And I am saying it a lot this week.  Let’s see what we have at ARTifacts to cool you down – to tempt you to brave this heat and come see what we have to share with you today!

Petticoat Junktion (aka, o’Baby) always has unique and inspired pieces for sale in her booth.  These new hanging organizers are her latest addition!  Made from old drawfront, door molding, reclaimed wood, etc – she has taken vintage drawer pulls and made all unique pieces.  The large piece pictured below is perfect for handing guest towels or bathrobes.  The smaller would make a wonderful display for your jewelry!  I use a piece like this for my jewelry and it is so much easier to use then any other jewelry organizer I have ever had.

New to ARTifacts is Debra Harrison, but since she is still freshening and stocking her booth, I just wanted to share my favorite piece with you.  I am in love with these bunny bookends!  Use them for what they are made for (bookends, duh!) OR keep them together for the special and unique display item that they are – so sweet!

As always, Rachel of Appealing Designs Jewelry has outdone herself!  I am in love with this new men’s bracelet she has added to her booth here at ARTifacts.  Mixing the copper, stainless steel and jasper is perfect for any masculine man to wear!

I am a big fan of buttons, which you may recall from a previous post – and these new bracelets from The Felted Lady are no exception!

That is 4 new arrivals.  More in a couple hours!

See you downtown!

Red, White & Blue

The most emotional set of colors in the English language – “Red, White & Blue”.  You hear the words and you FEEL patriotic.

Hear the words spoken in the wrong order, and you think “that’s not right”.

See them together and you think “America”.  Not many things induce a reaction so strong from so many.  In celebration and recognition of the upcoming Independence Day, I am going to blog those colors!  Today Red, tomorrow white, Monday blue. Finally on Tuesday – things that are all three.

Enjoy! And thanks to Rebecca Sower for sharing the mosaic photo collage creator!  What FUN!
