Vintage Style Valentine Gift Tags & Hanging Signs
Let's have a class - it is last minute, I know but I have the urge to create - and I thought some of you might be interested in coming too! I purchased these two hanging signs from Etsy this week - and I know we can recreate these for ourselves. If you like these, join me this Saturday at 10am at ARTifacts - we will have the images, the supplies - you bring your creativity and inspiration.
Pre-registration is required for this class to ensure that we have all the supplies that we need. The class is only $15.

More for Valentine's Ideas!
Most of you know that at the top of our stairs to enter ARTifacts off of Strawberry Alley, you will see our display gathered from all of our vendor booth based on the season or the theme.
This first photo is from our front display with a Valentine's Day theme. Ashley, my amazingly wonderful right hand gal, set most of this months display - and it looks great! The collection shown here has pottery by the Loose Potter, art cards by Gabriele, photo cards by Ashley, vintage hats from Vintage Mary, a coral and wood silver anklet from Pat Jones jewelry and handmade soaps from Dollar Scents. All perfectly pink and red gifts for this special holiday.

Last year, in Romantic Home Magazine (available at Hodgepodge) I fell in love with these Valentine Tussy's made by Elizabeth House. I decided then that I would have to make them for myself. But didn't get around to it in 2009. This year I did them! I made one for myself and then a few extra for the shop. One we will be raffling off as part of our Birthday celebration this coming Thursday night. The others are for sale.

So, what IS a tussy you may be asking! Traditionally they are any form of container, decorated and includes gifts. The idea is that you give them as gifts to your friends and family. The one shown here has vintage ribbon and lace, a vintage dollie, vintage 3 strand pearl choker, a Valentine hanging decoration that can be used after the other items have been removed from the tussy, and a vintage teacup and saucer.
Cheers!

All New Valentine's Day Ideas
I like it more when more thought is put into it. It is the holiday that we are supposed to show our loved ones how we love them. I don't think that "generic" gifts are really a great way to express that.
So, in the spirit of that - here are some gift ideas that I know I would love to give and/or receive - so maybe you would love to give and/or receive these too!
Next - I know you have heard me go on and on about the transferware jewelry. Now she has added these amazing belts. The made the first one a few weeks ago - and Paige, ARTifacts and Hodgepodge owner, bought that one immediately. She just brought these in this week and they are all unique and an incredible price! And of course, she always has the pendants and earrings that everyone loves!
Earlier this month, Rachel Ison moved into ARTifacts and brought with her the most amazing wire wrapped jewelry. They are all beautiful and all perfect gifts. But this necklace is especially appropriate for the season.
