More for Valentine's Ideas!
Most of you know that at the top of our stairs to enter ARTifacts off of Strawberry Alley, you will see our display gathered from all of our vendor booth based on the season or the theme. This first photo is from our front display with a Valentine's Day theme. Ashley, my amazingly wonderful right hand gal, set most of this months display - and it looks great! The collection shown here has pottery by the Loose Potter, art cards by Gabriele, photo cards by Ashley, vintage hats from Vintage Mary, a coral and wood silver anklet from Pat Jones jewelry and handmade soaps from Dollar Scents. All perfectly pink and red gifts for this special holiday.
Last year, in Romantic Home Magazine (available at Hodgepodge) I fell in love with these Valentine Tussy's made by Elizabeth House. I decided then that I would have to make them for myself. But didn't get around to it in 2009. This year I did them! I made one for myself and then a few extra for the shop. One we will be raffling off as part of our Birthday celebration this coming Thursday night. The others are for sale.

So, what IS a tussy you may be asking! Traditionally they are any form of container, decorated and includes gifts. The idea is that you give them as gifts to your friends and family. The one shown here has vintage ribbon and lace, a vintage dollie, vintage 3 strand pearl choker, a Valentine hanging decoration that can be used after the other items have been removed from the tussy, and a vintage teacup and saucer.
Cheers!

All New Valentine's Day Ideas
I have never been one to like receiving the typical roses and chocolates for Valentine's Day. Well, maybe chocolate...
I like it more when more thought is put into it. It is the holiday that we are supposed to show our loved ones how we love them. I don't think that "generic" gifts are really a great way to express that.
So, in the spirit of that - here are some gift ideas that I know I would love to give and/or receive - so maybe you would love to give and/or receive these too!
I love vintage jewelry. I can't tell you how many woman come in and try these on. But put these amazing pieces back because they just can't spend that much on themselves. Valentine's is a perfect time to splurge on the one you love.
Next - I know you have heard me go on and on about the transferware jewelry. Now she has added these amazing belts. The made the first one a few weeks ago - and Paige, ARTifacts and Hodgepodge owner, bought that one immediately. She just brought these in this week and they are all unique and an incredible price! And of course, she always has the pendants and earrings that everyone loves!
Earlier this month, Rachel Ison moved into ARTifacts and brought with her the most amazing wire wrapped jewelry. They are all beautiful and all perfect gifts. But this necklace is especially appropriate for the season.

New Arrivals in Reisa Peters & Susan Davis's booths
Rumor has it that Reisa is working offering artcards prints for her customers of her artwork. They are coming soon - I am excited to see what they look like. In the meantime, enjoy the arrival of 2 new pastel pieces that Reisa recently completed. All framed and ready to go this is an amazing piece. The colors in the photo are completely different then what you see in person - love that it did that - very cool!
Next is this painting on the fruit rolling out of the bucket. All beautiful!

New Arrivals's in Filo & The Dollhouse
The first vendor as you walk in our doors is FiLo - which stands for First In, Last Out. They have totally redone their booth bringing in several new pieces that need you to check out.
I love these old wardrobe doors - they are beautiful! That chair on the right is a beautiful piece too - but OPPS - it is already sold! These new pieces move fast!!

In "The Dollhouse" booth, Casey has added more of her creative pieces that tend to sell sortly after they arrive. I love this decoupage project she created. It would be so sweet in a play room or childs room.
If you haven't already seen The Dollhouse's clothes pin dolls - you have to come check out the one's she has created so far for Valentine's Day. These sweet doll all have all been given names, and are all unique. My girls love to play with them - and at under $3/each on most of them they make great gifts for any reason.
More new arrivals to come! Stay tuned for more!

New Antique's Vendor - Jenny
Our newest addition to our antique dealers is Jenny! This is Jenny's first booth, but already I can see she is going to be a store favorite! Her collect has great style mixed with unique pieces - and amazing creativity starting to shine through! We wish Jenny good luck - here are some of the pieces in her new booth.
Just look at this double set of antique school desks -
I am in love with these monogrammed glasses - and find myself wishing my last name started with "S" - I have never see a collection in such great condition!
Can't help but love this teapot set! The color is classic and so is the design. Perfect for any one who loves the 70's decorating style
Same with these pottery pieces. Great collection, and in imacculate condition.

Remember to put our Birthday Bash on your calendar! We will celebrate on Thursday, February 4th. That wraps it up for our new vendors - next posts will be for new items that have arrived in the booths of our current vendors who have created a new display
Cheers!

Rachel Ison Jewelry
Peter Rabbit at the Roxy
I just got back to work after a field trip with my daughter's school. We went to see Peter Rabbit & Friends at the Roxy Regional Theatre. It was a lot of fun - and I wanted to let everyone know so they could call the Roxy to reserve their tickets.

We have had lots of changes in the last few weeks at ARTifacts. Some vendors have moved out of state, so we have new vendors that have moved in and some vendors who have expanded or moved to different locations. Let's get you introducted to them in the next several posts!
These beautiful glassware pieces have been hand painted by Kimberly Martin. They have different themes. She has created designs for all style and needs. She has even already done a special order for wedding glasses that turned out just beautiful!
You need to see these in person to really see how great these are. Check out the blog tomorrow for more new additions!
Remember we are back to our regular store hours of Tuesday - Saturday 10am to 6pm.
See you soon!
