Postponing 15-50-15

So, the weather is bad.  Schools are closed, and the roads are not safe.  So, I am going to delay our first day of our 15-50-15 sale.

155015

But that is ok!  It will give everyone a chance to get their sidewalks cleared, snow off their cars, and make it downtown tomorrow for our first day of this sale!

So, here is your hint for the 3 vendors that will have the 15% off sale in their booths tomorrow.

1.  Once you walk through our doors, you have already seen this vendor. Full of old stuff and collectibles.

2.  This vendor loves flowers, and expresses them on canvas.

3. Can we fix it?  Yes we can!

See you downtown!

Another New Home–this one for Lee

So, we had a huge shake up – loads of new vendors – loads of vendors that shuffled around to try out something new – give everyone a fresh look!

Lee Ireland for example.  Check out her new space -

Looks great – doesn’t it!

012011 041

Lee’s melted wine bottles made into small bowls or cheese plates are so unique they make excellent gifts for house warming, hostess, birthday party OR even better – just because!

012011 042

Lee’s dichroic glass jewelry is so beautiful!  What is dichroic glass?

Dichroic glass is glass containing multiple micro-layers of metal oxides which give the glass dichroic optical properties.  Simply put – SPARKLY!!!!

Hope you enjoyed your tour of Lee’s new space!  I think it is perfect for her amazing work!

A Few of my Favorite Things - REPOST

We are running out of time – I really think each year we have less and less time between Thanksgiving and Christmas!  Don’t you? I mean, I KNOW there are about the same number of days, but sometimes it just seems like we have less each year.

I keep having friends ask me, “What do you have up in your shop that you would give as a gift for someone who (INSERT WHAT EVER HERE!)”.  I have only been stumped once.  And they were much more specific…ok, I have to share, because it is just too funny!

Kendall: Thanks for calling ARTifacts, this is Kendall.
Customer:  Yeah, I really need to find a special gift for a family member.  Do you have any wood or metal trouts?
Kendall:  Wood….or….metal….trouts….that is a good one.  Nope, sorry – can’t help you at all!!

True story.  They wanted a wood or metal TROUT.

Anywhoo – here are the answers to everyone that has ever asked me that question (minus the trout lady – wish I could have helped her!!)

YOu can go to the photo gallery for a complete description of these items on my list of a Few of my favorite things!!

What are you favorites at ARTifacts? I will share photos, just tell me!

See you downtown!

New Soaps from Seay Soaps

Patsy of Seay Soaps has made us a bunch of new soaps to enjoy.  After all we cleaned her out after her buy one get one sale – now we have all new items to enjoy.  Got to tell you something…

Seay Soaps

Patsy made some soaps for my daughter who is having some problems with dry skin bumps on her arms.  We have tried many different solutions, but no success.  We have now used Seay Soaps for only 3 days, and we can already see a huge difference on those bumps going away.  THANKS PATSY!  Above you see photos of her beautiful new spa soaps.  They are not only pretty, but also wonderfully soft and sudsy!

I’m Back – Let’s Catch Up! Gail Meyer, Featured Artist

I am sorry I have been out of contact for so long!  But instead of excuses, let’s get back to business! I promise to have a post a day until I have everyone caught up!

Let’s start with Gail Meyer – this months featured artist.  Gail was nice enough to bring in a bunch of new pieces to share with us – and within a few hours of hanging one of the large pieces – it sold!   Go Gail!!  And go to Carole the new owner of this piece.  I didn’t even get a photo of it- but trust me, amazingly beautiful and completely different then anything Gail has ever brought in.  Loved it!

Gail Meyer, artist

Love this piece.  Gail was saying the other day that she likes to not do detailed faces on her non-commissioned art – she wants the viewer of the art to imagine who they want in the piece.  Love the rain running off the painting.  Don’t forget that we do have layaway – so if you are able to put larger pieces like this on layaway for Christmas!

Gail Meyer, artist

I have been enjoying Gail’s coffee cup paintings for some time now.  But with the cold crisp air we are enjoying in the mornings – doesn’t this cup of tea just call your name?  Perfect for a breakfast nook.

Gail Meyer, artist I am loving these birds.  Please save me from myself!  This amazing piece is only $55!

Gail Meyer, artist These daisies are just wonderful.  Table top or hang it up – love it!

Gail Meyer, artist This painting of a downtown is so wonderful – what do you see in this one?

Gail Meyer, artist Growing up my parents had a cabin in the mountains of West Virginia.  We spent alot of our vacations at that cabin – and I have some amazing memories of that place.  I miss it very much and wish I could share it with my kids now.  For what ever reason, this painting reminds me of that cabin.  My Dad just said, “Don’t know why, it looks nothing like it!” but it totally does.  Maybe just the feel of it, the hominess.  Not sure- but I love it.

Gail Meyer, artist Love the coloring on this one!  Makes me want to head downtown!

Gail Meyer, artistAnd more of her mini paintings – perfect gifts for whatever!

Hope you enjoyed this update!  I promise more tomorrow!

See you downtown - K

Two New Features

Some of my favorite blogs have regular features – so I have been wanting to do them too – here is what I have selected.   I will do 2 regular features a week – the first (a day late because I am going to post today for yesterday!) will be “Fab Find Friday:.  Here I will feature a fantastic find from my many incredible antique dealers.  I will feature items that catch my eye, are an incredible deal, or have an incredible story with them.

FunFriday copy

Next, I will feature an artist or handcrafted item on “Creation Tuesday”. This will be a fun one – since we have so many amazingly talented artisans here at ARTifacts.

CreationTuesday copy

On that note – the first installment of Fab Find Friday!

DSCF8030

I love this spool drawer in Vintage Mary’s booth.  All original knobs and just useful for so many things!  Would be cute in a bathroom, craft room, kitchen, children’s room – on and on!  It is a great deal marked at $235! (This weekend she has a sale for 20% off in her booth!  Great deal for this very unique piece.

fav1I love these birds!  Ideas are ENDLESS for these vintage wonders!  That said – they are SOLD already!  They made it into the shop, and 24 hours later, they walked out with one lucky gal!  But I still have a photo, so I wanted to share!

Bake Oven BowlsThese Bake Oven ceramic collectible bowls are the bees knees!  I just LOVE them!  They would make the perfect accent piece in any kitchen!  Just $75 for the set/3 it is a great deal (this weekend she has a sale for 25% off too!  Can’t beat that!)

So, those are my Friday (on Saturday) Fab Finds!

Let me know what you think of this new feature!

Cheers!
