New Arrivals!

So, I have to admit I have been so worn out by blogging with the 15/50/15 sale that I haven’t been on the ball with new posts as I should be.  My apologies!  I want to start with the reminder of the Mixed Media class we will have next week.

I have really enjoyed Kimberly’s classes, and continue to be able to use all the techniques she is teaching us in class for all kinds of other projects.  AND my husband is enjoying having unique art pieces in the house – I can create art that I am proud enough of to display!  THIS is no small miracle!

To learn more about this class – check out the Special Events & Classes link on our blog.

Ok – now on to new arrivals at the shop!

FIrst, while some of these items have been in the shop for over a week – they are still new arrivals – those of you who shop with us once a week will just have to bare with us and enjoy this refresher.  <grin>

Oh Baby always have fun new pieces that we can count on being unique and wonderfully special.  All the items I have purchased from Oh Baby my friends always comment that they love that piece!  I love this new chair and trunk!  And while I didn’t capture the lamp as well as I could have – she has these amazing brass, ceramic and glass lamps also.  One is the light blue you see here – the other is a light blush color.DSCF1004

All kinds of new goodies in Busy Bees!  Including those 2 amazing Norman Rockwell presidential couple prints.

Appealing Designs has been busy at work with this piece.  It is 3 pendants in one!  She has created a latch on this piece so you can change out the cabochon (fancy word for round rock!) for a different one.

I have always enjoy Gabriele Wardeiner’s abstract art.  But this particular set I LOVE!  The colors (not conveyed very well in this photo) are wonderfully soothing!

DSCF1009

Gail Meyer has been busy at work adding several new pieces to her booth.  I love the series with the fruit on the vine – this photo shows the limes, but she also pears and oranges to go with this set.  And for those of you who follow Paige’s blog at Hodgepodge-Home know that decorating in 3’s is always a must!  Gail also added several ocean/side images.  Boats, lighthouses and more.  Makes me ready for summer!

DSCF1012

Guy Bozard has created another wood masterpiece.  This table is just beautiful – and add to it that it is useful in some many ways, you can’t beat it!

DSCF1013

The breeze that the spring time brings makes me want to play with scarves in the fields, watching the light weight fabric flowing in the wind.  These amazing scarves by Eunice Kern can provide that child like fun for you anytime with the scarf to match your spring collection.

December 2010 Issue of Clarksville Family Magazine

For many months now, we have done an article with Clarksville Family Magazine featuring a family art project.   This months feature will be our last project because of time restrictions, but here is our last article for all to see!!

We had a great time with this project!  I have a thing for wooden spools.  Who knows why since I don’t really know how to sew (just as my best friend who has spent countless hours trying to help me seam rip all my errors!!).  So, I have been collecting them when I see them – not knowing what to do with them but knowing there must be 100s of ideas out there.

Here are our Christmas ornament projects all made with wooden spools.  Get the magazine at a local stand to see the whole article, but here are all the photos from our day of crafting fun (even when the kids got bored and the Mom’s kept going!!

Furniture Makeover 101

Fall Workshops

FURNITURE  MAKEOVERS  101
October 23, 2010,  2:00-4:00 P. M.
Maximum of 8 workshop participants, minimum of 4
Cost of workshop:  $25.00

Do you often admire painted furniture and cabinetry featured in magazines or on TV.  You know the pieces I’m talking about.  They have multiple layers of paint, distressed areas, unique hardware, decorative wood details, etc.  The process of reviving your old furniture is both easy and inexpensive.

I will show you how to breathe new life into your furniture, cabinets, mirrors, picture frames, etc. Caromal Colours Country Living Paints and products are featured in my makeovers.  They are user friendly, “green”, and produce excellent results.

Please bring pictures of your furniture or cabinets you want to makeover and also pics from magazines with the look you would like to achieve.  We will paint, distress, age, change hardware, etc., on some of my work projects.  The finishes we can reproduce are endless.  You will paint 2 wood samples to take home and admire.  I’m looking forward to seeing you.

New Caromal Colors Classes

Hi all! I know many of you have heard about the classes we are offering in our studio space now, and many of you are asking when we will be offering more. Well, I am working on all kinds of ideas - so let me know what you want to learn and we will see about making it happen.

I have been, and let me tell you - I am so excited about getting to work on some projects! I can't wait! So here is what is scheduled so far for September. And please contact us early - because these classes have really started filling up fast. I might be able to get her to add more if the response we get is high!

This stenciled sign incorporates many of the Caromal Colours products in the preparation and you will see how simple they are to use. So those who have been waiting to see the paints, sign up because this is going to be a great workshop. I will provide the wine and all materials needed for the project. Come paint and create.

So much to tell you all!

There is so much going on right now I am hardly having time to blog - but let me get a few quick announcements out there so you don't miss out on anything!

First - Photoshop Element classes - Level One is tomorrow starting at 11am. We have room for 1 more student. Don't you want that seat? Call me ASAP! 931.249.0454 to reserve it!

Second, is the new schedule of classes from Kathy Owen for Caromal Colours. I have now attended both of these classes, and you all should take time to check these out. I am going to save thousands by painting my cabinets instead of replacing them - and I love what I am planning so much more then ANY of those cabinets out there. And you can paint ANYTHING with this product - not just cabinets.

Stenciling & Metal Leaf class is on August 13, 6:30 - 8pm

Distressed for Success is August 20, 6:30 - 8pm

Get full descriptions on our workshops link on our website. Remember - this product is endorsed by Country Living Magazine - YES, it is that good!!

Finally, we have added a new idea to ARTifacts, that has opened up a new opportunity to 12 new local artists to share their wares with you. I will share photos in the coming days, but you have got to come see for yourself the exciting new additions to ARTifacts!
