Local Artisans–Petticoat Junktion & Purple Magnolia

Petticoat Junktion joined us at ARTifacts originally as O’ Baby! But as her ideas and products that she makes grew and changed, so did the name of her business to better protray what she has to offer her customers.

Painted furniture, repurposed items from her creative mind, are always available in the booth for Petticoat Junktion – here is a small sampling.

New Stuff–Part 1

Hi all!  There are so many new special arrivals at the shop this week!  But I can’t get them all into one blog post, so you will have to return tomorrow to see the rest!  And of course, after that we have our new featured vendors for June so you will have to come back and visit us again on the 1st to see what those vendors have been up too!

O’ Baby has been hard at work again.  Loving this new white blanket chest.  I took home her black one – and I just LOVE it.  Now here is your chance to get this white one.  I love the detail on the wood applique.  And I love the red travel case. I would love to bring it home and put guest towels, washcloths and other small toiletries for the guest bathroom.

Appealing Jewelry Designs brought in all kinds of new pieces,  here are just a few of her new additions.

Designs by Sharla is getting her craft on, and expanded her horizons from her jewelry pieces to these fun metal chalkboard trays.  In fun colors, these trays can be used as magnet boards or chalkboards.  FUN!

Gail Meyer has also refreshed with 2 new pieces to her booth.  Both pieces have this wonderfully soothing lilac coloring.

New Arrivals!

So, I have to admit I have been so worn out by blogging with the 15/50/15 sale that I haven’t been on the ball with new posts as I should be.  My apologies!  I want to start with the reminder of the Mixed Media class we will have next week.

I have really enjoyed Kimberly’s classes, and continue to be able to use all the techniques she is teaching us in class for all kinds of other projects.  AND my husband is enjoying having unique art pieces in the house – I can create art that I am proud enough of to display!  THIS is no small miracle!

To learn more about this class – check out the Special Events & Classes link on our blog.

Ok – now on to new arrivals at the shop!

FIrst, while some of these items have been in the shop for over a week – they are still new arrivals – those of you who shop with us once a week will just have to bare with us and enjoy this refresher.  <grin>

Oh Baby always have fun new pieces that we can count on being unique and wonderfully special.  All the items I have purchased from Oh Baby my friends always comment that they love that piece!  I love this new chair and trunk!  And while I didn’t capture the lamp as well as I could have – she has these amazing brass, ceramic and glass lamps also.  One is the light blue you see here – the other is a light blush color.DSCF1004

All kinds of new goodies in Busy Bees!  Including those 2 amazing Norman Rockwell presidential couple prints.

DSCF1006

Appealing Designs has been busy at work with this piece.  It is 3 pendants in one!  She has created a latch on this piece so you can change out the cabochon (fancy word for round rock!) for a different one.

DSCF1008

I have always enjoy Gabriele Wardeiner’s abstract art.  But this particular set I LOVE!  The colors (not conveyed very well in this photo) are wonderfully soothing!

DSCF1009

Gail Meyer has been busy at work adding several new pieces to her booth.  I love the series with the fruit on the vine – this photo shows the limes, but she also pears and oranges to go with this set.  And for those of you who follow Paige’s blog at Hodgepodge-Home know that decorating in 3’s is always a must!  Gail also added several ocean/side images.  Boats, lighthouses and more.  Makes me ready for summer!

DSCF1012

Guy Bozard has created another wood masterpiece.  This table is just beautiful – and add to it that it is useful in some many ways, you can’t beat it!

DSCF1013

The breeze that the spring time brings makes me want to play with scarves in the fields, watching the light weight fabric flowing in the wind.  These amazing scarves by Eunice Kern can provide that child like fun for you anytime with the scarf to match your spring collection.

Featured Antique – Oh Baby!

Kathy of Oh Baby! is one of our incredible antique vendors.  She has an amazing gift for decorating, painting and making vintage pieces upcycled to a new life.

Oh Baby! Antiques says, “I love painting old furniture and replacing the hardware or adding new detail. Anything rusty speaks to me, as does vintage jewelry. I love repurposing these items into unique wall hangings.”

Join us on ArtWalk to learn more about Kathy's wonderful collections - or anyday at ARTifacts.

Come back tomorrow to learn about our handcraft featured vendor for January.

Creation Tuesday!

I really have enjoyed doing this blog each week!  It is hard to do – select just a few items that are created – there are so many wonderful vendors here, I can never pick just 2!

But that is ok – cuz I will another chance next week :o)

Ok – so I had selected my items to feature on this blog – and then one of my vendors walked in with the great creation, and I switched gears!

vintage screen memory board Oh Baby!  Took an old vintage window door screen and added homemade magnets.  I love this look, it is just too fun.

wood bracelet with pencil drawingThen there are these wonderful bracelets made by Artistic Eye's Pamela Settle.  Pam takes a wood bracelet (she has various sizes and widths) and draws a design on them.  Each bracelet tells a story, that she includes with the purchase.

wood bracelet with pencil drawingHere is another one – this one has colored pencils – they are just beautiful!

Each one of her bracelets are completely different – very cool!

What will you create today?

Cheers!

Oh Baby! booth has moved!

As I mentioned in a previous update, Busy Bee Antiques has moved out of ARTifacts to begin an all new venture – starting their own new store here in Downtown Clarksville, Fleur De Leis!  They hope to open by River’s & Spires – so stay tuned for more info about that.

In the meantime – Oh Baby! has moved up to the front of the shop and now she is directly across from me!  The booth looks completely different – and like it is all new stuff.  It is so cool how that happens!  Here are a few quick photos for you to see what a different a small move can make!

Some of the pieces Oh Baby features include loads of vintage frames painted with Caromal Colour’s paints- made to last!  Many upcycled furniture pieces that once were at a second hand store ready or ready for the dump.  Kathy has completely revived them with a new coat of paint and her amazing amazing paint technique. She has all kinds of new signs that are fun too – and always has her Angel’s of Reclaim made up from pieces of vintage hardware, door hinges, jewelry bits, vintage fibers and more – these angels are wonderful gift ideas and each one is completely different from the last!

More New Arrivals this March

DSCF0041

Kathy Owen just brought in these fun rusty garden chairs – LOVE THEM!  So many fun ideas running through my mind with these chairs!  And she has added all kinds of great decor pieces for you to add a special touch to a room.  I keep reading about how you can make the smallest changes to a room’s decor with small changes.  I think that Kathy of Oh Baby!  has so many ideas for you in this area. Just adding this fun floral arrangement will change the way a room will look – with an amazing price tag I promise!

DSCF0046

Relative Collections has gathered up some polish pottery for us all to enjoy!  Check out all of these pieces – for great prices.

DSCF0048

Easter is drawing near – so that mean The Dollhouse has redone her booth and of course has Easter clothespin dolls for your continued collection of her simple and charming dolls.  They are great for gifts for your children, grandchildren, or neighbors kids – but also fun for accents to your current decorating.

More to come!  Cheers!
